Thank you to all who visited, the weather was excellent and we hope that you enjoyed your day.
This year we had over 7,000 visitors to our biggest funday yet. And thanks to your generosity, we raised over £2800 for our three charities, Help for Heroes, DWARF and Rayleigh Talking Newspapers for the Blind. On their behalf, we would like to say thank you to all who attended or supported this worthwhile day.
It was the third time that Rayleigh Chamber of Trade has held this event and we are delighted with your response and the feedback we have had. Our goal was to have a real family day with something for everyone and judging from your comments, it looks like that's just what we achieved!
There were some great pictures taken on the day, take a look to see if you are there!

Who will benefit from the event this year?
All proceeds from todays event will go to three charities. Help For Heroes and two local charities - Dwarf, Dangerous Wild Animal Rescue Facility and Rayleigh, Rochford and Castle Point Talking Newspapers, who both do amazing work and whose profiles we wanted to help to raise.
Help for Heroes needs little introduction and raises much needed funds to help our brave troops injured in the sevice of their country.
"We may not be able to prevent our blokes and girls being hurt, but together we are helping them get better. Thank you all for all you are doing and keep it up!" Bryn and Emma Parry OBE, Help for Heroes Co-Founders.
The Dangerous Wild Animal Rescue Facility (DWARF) was started some fifteen years ago by Iain Newby, and is run by Iain, his wife Lisa and a small band of volunteers. DWARF was started to rescue and look after the many unwanted, abused and neglected snakes, lizards and other species, where the owners either cannot look after them properly, or they have simply grown too big or too dangerous.
Rayleigh, Rochford and Castle Point Talking Newspaper. Listeners receive a CD or cassette of local news, information and articles from the Echo and other publications once a fortnight and an audio magazine each month. These are sent, entirely free of charge, to anyone in these districts who is blind, partially sighted, or simply finds reading difficult.
"We receive no direct funding to run our operation, but rely on kind donations and our own fundraising efforts."

the biggest and best yet
The Rayleigh and District Chamber of Trade encourages the membership and support of businesses from both Rayleigh High Street and surrounding areas, including industrial estates.
We work very closely with Hockley and Rochford Chambers of Trade, as well as Rochford District Council.
Our meetings are informal and are currently held in Marco's Bar in Rayleigh. They usually start around 5.45pm and we aim to end around 7pm, sometimes followed by further refreshments and a meal.
We welcome all members, plus anyone interested in joining our Chamber.
